He is a transformer, and a catalyst; he makes things happen. This legend tells how after the great flood, at Rose Spit, a bored, insatiable Raven in search of distraction stumbled onto a clam from which some squeaky sounds could be heard. Curious, the raven enjoyed for a while his new plaything, cajoling and coercing the little creatures to come out of the clam shell. To his surprise they were four-legged creatures: the first humans.
